Find your Stripe API key
Support · Stripe, payments & subscriptions
TapRev reads your Stripe sales with a restricted key you make in Stripe. It is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and sent only to Stripe; no TapRev server ever sees it.
Stripe can limit a key to reading, so make it read-only: it can see your sales and cannot change anything.
Make the restricted key
- Go to Stripe Dashboard > Developers > API keys > Create restricted key
- Set Read on: Balance, Balance transactions, Charges (Stripe lists it as "Charges and Returns"), Customers, Invoices, Prices, Products, Subscriptions. Leave everything else on None
- Copy the key (starts with rk_live_, or rk_test_ in a sandbox)
- Open TapRev, tap Add Platform, choose Stripe and paste it
Instant Alerts (Pro)
Free sale alerts arrive when iOS lets the app check, from 15 minutes to a few hours apart. With Pro, Stripe wakes your phone within seconds of a sale through a link you paste into Stripe. In TapRev, open Settings → Notifications and tap Stripe under Instant Alerts to copy its link, then:
- Go to Stripe Dashboard > Workbench > Webhooks
- Click Create an event destination and choose Your account
- Keep the payload on Snapshot and the API version as it is
- Select the events listed below, then Continue
- Choose Webhook endpoint, then Continue
- Paste the link as the Endpoint URL and create it. You don't need the signing secret
The events to select
charge.succeededcharge.refundedcharge.dispute.createdinvoice.paidcustomer.subscription.updatedcustomer.subscription.deleted
The link only wakes your phone. Whatever Stripe sends with it passes through the relay unread, and the phone then checks Stripe with its own key (privacy policy).
Take the key back
Revoke the restricted key in Stripe and TapRev can no longer read anything from the next sync on. In the app, Settings → Delete All Data removes every key from the Keychain.
Still stuck
Email [email protected] with your iOS version and the step you reached. Never include the key itself.
