Find your Polar API key
Support · Polar, open-source monetization
TapRev reads your Polar sales with a organization access token you make in Polar. It is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and sent only to Polar; no TapRev server ever sees it.
Polar can limit a key to reading, so make it read-only: it can see your sales and cannot change anything.
Make the organization access token
- Go to Polar > Settings > Developers > New Token
- Name it, set an expiration, and tick organizations:read, products:read, orders:read, subscriptions:read and customers:read
- Copy the token (starts with polar_oat_). For test data, make it the same way in Polar's sandbox
- Open TapRev, tap Add Platform, choose Polar and paste it
Instant Alerts (Pro)
Free sale alerts arrive when iOS lets the app check, from 15 minutes to a few hours apart. With Pro, Polar wakes your phone within seconds of a sale through a link you paste into Polar. In TapRev, open Settings → Notifications and tap Polar under Instant Alerts to copy its link, then:
- Go to Polar > your organization's Settings > Webhooks
- Click Add Endpoint and paste the link as the URL
- Keep the format set to Raw
- Select the events listed below and save
The events to select
order.createdorder.paidorder.refundedsubscription.updatedsubscription.canceledsubscription.revoked
The link only wakes your phone. Whatever Polar sends with it passes through the relay unread, and the phone then checks Polar with its own key (privacy policy).
Take the key back
Revoke the organization access token in Polar and TapRev can no longer read anything from the next sync on. In the app, Settings → Delete All Data removes every key from the Keychain.
Still stuck
