TapRev for Stripe
Every Stripe sale on your iPhone, out loud.
TapRev is an iPhone app for people who sell on Stripe: a ka-ching for every Stripe sale, your MRR and revenue at a glance, and widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. It reads Stripe with a restricted, read-only key that stays on your phone.
What TapRev shows from Stripe
- Every payment, renewal and refund, with the customer and the product.
- Your MRR, worked out from your Stripe subscriptions on the phone: its change against 30 days ago, new and churned MRR, and the year at that pace.
- Revenue over the last 30 days, by day and by period.
- Disputes and cancellations, as alerts of their own.
- Your customers and products, and a record of the journey: over a hundred badges earned from your real sales.
How a Stripe sale reaches your phone
Free
Every sale, renewal and refund arrives as an alert, free. Without Pro, TapRev checks Stripe when you open it and in the background, which iOS allows every 15 minutes at the earliest and schedules as it sees fit.
Pro: Instant Alerts
With Pro, Instant Alerts ring within seconds. You paste one link into Stripe as a webhook for six events (charge.succeeded, charge.refunded, charge.dispute.created, invoice.paid, customer.subscription.updated and customer.subscription.deleted), and TapRev’s relay wakes your phone. The relay never holds your key, a sale or a customer.
The key it needs
Stripe lets you make a restricted key that can only read. TapRev asks for Read on Balance, Balance transactions, Charges, Customers, Invoices, Prices, Products and Subscriptions, and None on everything else, so it cannot move money or change anything in Stripe. The key is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain, on that device only, and TapRev reads Stripe straight from your phone. A test key (rk_test_) works too, and the app marks its data as test mode.
Questions about TapRev and Stripe
Does Stripe have an iPhone app?
Yes: Stripe’s own Dashboard app shows your Stripe account. TapRev is a different thing. It rings for every sale, puts your MRR and revenue in one number with any other platform you sell on, and keeps the record of your journey. You can use both.
How do I get Stripe payment notifications on my iPhone?
Connect Stripe to TapRev with a restricted key, and every payment arrives as an alert with its amount and its customer. Without Pro, alerts come with TapRev’s background checks; with Pro and one webhook in Stripe, they arrive within seconds.
Can I see my Stripe MRR on my iPhone?
Yes. TapRev works out MRR from your Stripe subscriptions on your phone and shows it as one number, with its change against 30 days ago, new and churned MRR, and the year at that pace. If you sell one-off products, it can lead with revenue instead.
Is there a Stripe widget for the iPhone?
TapRev’s widgets show your Stripe MRR or revenue on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. The figures in a widget are Pro; on the free plan a widget shows how many platforms are connected.
Is it safe to give TapRev a Stripe key?
The key is restricted to reading, so it cannot move money or change anything in Stripe. It stays in your iPhone’s Keychain and is never sent to a TapRev server: TapRev reads Stripe directly from your phone. You can delete the key in Stripe at any time.
I also sell on another platform. Does that work?
Yes. Connect it too, and TapRev shows one number across Stripe and the others: Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar, Gumroad, FastSpring, Dodo Payments, Creem, RevenueCat, Superwall and Square.
What does TapRev cost?
TapRev is free to download, and every alert is free. Your first week has everything in Pro; after it, Pro is $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
Also on your phone, beside Stripe
