Find your Gumroad API key

TapRev reads your Gumroad sales with a access token you make in Gumroad. It is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and sent only to Gumroad; no TapRev server ever sees it.

Gumroad has no read-only access token, so it allows more than TapRev asks of it. TapRev only reads with it: the app has no code that writes to a platform, and you can revoke it in Gumroad at any time.

Make the access token

  1. Go to Gumroad > Settings > Advanced
  2. Under Applications, name it TapRev, enter http://127.0.0.1 as the Redirect URI, and press Create application
  3. Press Generate access token
  4. Copy the Access Token
  5. Open TapRev, tap Add Platform, choose Gumroad and paste it

Instant Alerts (Pro)

Free sale alerts arrive when iOS lets the app check, from 15 minutes to a few hours apart. With Pro, Gumroad wakes your phone within seconds of a sale through a link you paste into Gumroad. In TapRev, open Settings → Notifications and tap Gumroad under Instant Alerts to copy its link, then:

  1. Go to Gumroad > Settings > Advanced
  2. Under Ping, paste the link into Ping endpoint
  3. Press Update settings. Gumroad calls the link when a sale happens; TapRev then checks refunds and disputes too

The link only wakes your phone. Whatever Gumroad sends with it passes through the relay unread, and the phone then checks Gumroad with its own key (privacy policy).

Take the key back

Revoke the access token in Gumroad and TapRev can no longer read anything from the next sync on. In the app, Settings → Delete All Data removes every key from the Keychain.
